Inserted into a 3.1m wide gap in a traditional Victorian terrace in South East London, the uniquely narrow ‘Wedge House’ comprises a simple wedge-shaped plan that fully maximises the site footprint, tapering from 2.8m internally at the front of the site to 1.9m at the rea

Through a collaborative design approach, alma-nac worked closely with the clients to develop the resulting design for a 1-bedroom, 2-storey house which provides 52 sq metres of internal living space and an external courtyard garden to the rear. The project forms an important part of alma-nac’s ongoing research into Urban Dentistry: the densification of urban environments, through fine-grain and incremental development.
